This is a key role within our product development organization, combining hands-on mechanical engineering with practical product development and responsibility for driving technical activities and projects from concept to implementation.
The role offers a dynamic working environment where technology, innovation and leadership go hand in hand. The position involves some travel to customers and suppliers as part of development projects and technical collaboration.
The position is based in Malmö and reports to Head of Global R&D.
Responsibilities
• Drive and perform hands on mechanical development projects from concept design to implementation and industrialization.
• Lead and coordinate technical activities within R&D and in close collaboration with Production and Customer Support.
• Improve functionality, performance, quality and manufacturability across the existing product portfolio.
• Contribute to the development of technologies related to aerodynamics, freezing performance and thermal processes.
• Visit customers globally to gain hands-on user insights and identify future product opportunities, improvements and potential risks.
• Support strategic product decisions through technical expertise and project management capabilities.
• Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution and high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• Extensive experience in hands-on mechanical design and product development within industrial machinery.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong CAD experience, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience with prototype development, mechanical testing, validation and verification.
• Broad technical understanding of mechanics, manufacturing processes and industrial systems.
• Practical hands-on mindset with the ability to move between design work, workshop activities and technical problem-solving.
• Experience in project management or technical leadership roles is highly valued.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to drive projects and technical activities forward.
• Experience within food processing, aerodynamics, thermal processes or related industries is considered an advantage
